Brasserie Lefebvre is a homegrown brand that was quickly embraced by the Kingdom of Belgium since 1876. The brewery was created in order to supply pubs around the neighbouring porphyry quarries. With its distinct taste and quality, the sales network quickly spread to neighboring villages. It has been run and grown with pride by six generations and is distributed across 50 countries - the most recent addition would be Philippines.
There is still a youthful determination and family spirit present in the brewery. It is constantly expanding and mainly works on the export market which accounts for 80% of overall production.
Dubuisson is the oldest and most authentic brewery in Wallonia and the first to lay claim to a badge of honour that is envied by many of its rivals. Centuries of passionate work and fervent prayer are bottled inside each Trappist Westmalle beer. Crafted from a brewery exclusively ran by monks for over two centuries, these Trappist beers are considered a rarity and are hard to procure until the 1950s.
The brewery has only used pure ingredients: water, malt, hops, sugar and yeast, all fetched and harvested within their backyards. The purpose of the brewery is not to make a profit. The income takes care of the livelihood of the monks and the upkeep of the abbey site. What is left over is used for charitable purposes, social work and people in need.
